A cataplana is a traditional Portuguese cooking vessel that gives its name to a popular seafood dish in Portugal. Steeped in tradition, this clamshell-shaped pan has been made by coppersmiths in the Algarve for centuries. It's as much a symbol of the region as almond trees in blossom.
